With a powerful gallop to the top!


This appealing and strong galloping Douglas son comes from the well-known and very well-performing Dermie mare line. Great-grandmother Dwermie produced no fewer than 3 approved stallions, namely Wender R (by Contender), Odermus R (by Calido I) and the KWPN Keur stallion Mermus R (by Burggraaf). She produced no fewer than 7 offspring that jumped 1.30m or higher, of which Odermus R jumped at 1.40m. level and the Namelus R offspring Vanquish - Alireza Khosdhel (IRI) jumped internationally at 1.55m level.


In the mare line we also find the KWPN approved and 1.60m. classified stallion Tolan R (by Namelus R), KWPN approved, 1.60m. classified stallion Emir R (by Colman) and the Oldenburg-approved stallion Hauptkommisar (by Harley VDL).

Mother is the PROK approved mare H. Termie (by Namelus R). H. Termie descends from the very well-performing Dermie line. Her son Nenssen (by Jenssen VDL), born in 2018, now jumps at 1.20m. level.


Grandmother is the Elite, Preferent and PROK approved mare K.Termie 50 (by Ladalco). She competed at M2 level in dressage. She brought the KWPN 2nd viewing stallion Summum W (by Ferro), de Ster, EPTM-spr, and PROK approved mare Winx (by Concorde), de Elite, Preferente EPTM-spr. and PROK approved mare E.Termie (by Clinton) and the international 1.35m. show jumping horse Famelus (by Namelus R) - Daisy Vandevoort (BEL).


Great-grandmother is the Preferent, Performance mare Dwermie (by G. Ramiro Z). She produced no fewer than 3 approved stallions, namely Wender R (by Contender), Odermus R (by Calido I) and the KWPN Keur stallion Mermus R (by Burggraaf).  7 of her offspring jumped 1.30m or higher, of which Odermus R jumped at 1.40m. level and the Namelus R offspring Vanquish - rider Alireza Khosdhel (IRI) jumped international at 1.55m. level.


In the mare line we also find the KWPN approved and 1.60m. classified stallion Tolan R (by Namelus R), the KWPN approved and 1.60m. classified stallion Emir R (by Colman) and the Oldenburg approved stallion Hauptkommisar (by Harley VDL).

The Darco son Douglas was successfully competed in international 1.50m courses by Conor Swail. After a serious injury, Douglas had to end his sports career prematurely, but with his enormous jumping technique and ability he made an indelible impression.


Achievements

As a 3-year-old, Douglas performed in Adelheidsdorf and came first in jumping with 139.49 points. As a 4-year-old Douglas was champion of Ireland and as a 6-year-old he was reserve champion of Ireland.


Douglas' descendants perform at the highest level. One of the best-known Douglas descendants is Suma's Zorro from Sameh El Dahan, who took part in the World Equestrian Games in Caen in 2014 and in Tryon in 2018. Suma's Zorro won the Rolex Grand Prix of Spruce Meadows, Calgary in spectacular fashion – one of the highest Grand Prix in the world. He also took the top prize in the Global Champions Tour of Paris.


Another very well-known Douglas descendant is the Irish-bred Dougie Douglas, who, after a successful career under the British Holly Smith, was sold to the American Katherine Dinan via the Goresbridge auction for 1.4 million euros. Under the American team, Dougie Douglas won the 1.50m in Harrisburg, came second in the 1.60m Grand Prix of Valence, second in the GP of New York North Salem, second in the World Cup of Washington and third in the World Cup of Ocala.


Under his new rider Mathieu Billot, Douglas' son Dassler convinced with his unlimited power and won the Puissance of London Olympia and Rouen, after having also won the Puissance of Liverpool and the Six Bar of St Lô under Louise Saywell. Dallas VDL jumps from one top performance to another under Jur Vrieling and the mare Eurvette O has also developed into a competitive Grand Prix jumping horse under Andreas Schou, including a second place in the Oliva Grand Prix and a third place in the Grand Prix of Ciekocinko. Under Marlon Zanotelli, Douglas' son Icarus won the Grand Prix of both Opglabbeek and Lier and came second in the Grand Prix of Moorsele. There was also a bronze medal in the Sires of the World at the World Championships in Lanaken.
